GRANADA
Granada is a beautiful city located in south of Spain. Granada it’s characterized by one big monument, the Alhambra . Beside that, it has incredible beaches too, and many places to go and visit. Due to its localization, Granada has a very hot climate and in summer sometimes it’s hard to go out.
Monuments of Granada :
The three most important and beautiful monuments of Granada are:
-The neighbourhood Albacín. The neighbourhood Albacín is a neighbourhood with narrow streets and typical houses with beauty and charm, this neighbourhood is preserved for over a thousand years ago.
- The Alhambra . The Alhambra is the world's most spectacular Moorish monument ofSpain and it’s symbol of Granada too. In its interior we can find a place of rest and extensive gardens, called Nazari Palaces. Alhambra was the heart and the settlement of the sultans.
- The Cathedral of Granada . The Cathedral of Granada or the Cathedral of the Incar nation is the cathedral situated in the city centre. It is a very beautiful place and cultural centre of the city. Its façade is Renaissance.
Parque Federico Garcia Lorca
The park Federico Garcia Lorca, it’s a public park built in honour to the poet Federico Garcia Lorca. It’s a perfect place to relax and enjoy the city, there you can have a walk,listen to the birds or just have a Little nap. During the day the park is open, but it closes at night.
Jardines del Triunfo
The Jardines del Triunfo in Granada was a cemetery when Arabic people were in Granada, around the s. XIII. This place was a Plaza de Toros too. In the Garden wecan find a magnificent fountain with a game of lights and water during the night. A typical monument we can see here is a sculpture of the Virgen del Triunfo
Semana Santa.
In March or April, in this city and in all Andalusia, native people celebrate the Semana Santa, a religious festival. In this festival all the brotherhood go to a religious procession where they show to the people their Saints and Virgins.
